I love pancakes; especially American pancakes, and don't get to make them often enough. During the summer I came across this recipe, but tweaked it a little to my taste. Wondering how to make these bad boys? Well here are some of the items and ingredients you will need:
Butter, Mixing Bowl with digital scale, Measuring Jug, Golden Syrup, Egg, Ignore the Yoghurt lol, Sugar, Electric Whisk, Milk, Strawberries! |
Makes about 11-13
1 Egg
300ml Milk
200g Self-Raising Flour
1 Tsp Baking Powder
Tsp of Butter
Tsp of Butter
3-5 Tb Sugar
2 Tsp Vanilla Essence/Flavouring
2 Tsp Vanilla Essence/Flavouring
Oil to fry
Optional Toppings:
Golden Syrup
3-5 Strawberries
1 scoop Vanilla Ice cream
1. Sieve and mix all the dry ingredients (flour, baking powder and sugar) together in a mixing bowl.
2. In a separate measuring jug, mix together wet ingredients; first the milk, vanilla essence, then egg and lastly melted tsp of butter.
3. Gently add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and whisk together until smooth and thick.
4. Heat 2 Tb of oil in a non-stick frying pan and begin to fry these bad boys by dropping in a large spoonful (not too big) of the batter! You should be able to fit at least 2-3.
5. Top and present as you wish. In this case add the scoop of ice cream, the washed and cut strawberries and a swirling of Golden Syrup!
6. Eat till you can't eat no more! =)
You can tweak this recipe to your own taste e.g sugar and toppings, which I did with the original recipe. On the subject of recipes, one of my besties' birthday is coming up pretty soon and she would like me to bake her something. So now I am on the hunt for an amazing, you guessed it...red velvet cupcake recipe. Do you know of any? If so, please do share below!
