Bionic

Christina Aguilera will be releasing her new album soon, titled 'Bionic'. It has been 4 years since her last album and finally on her website they have put up a sneak peak of new artwork designed by Street Artist D-face. I love how he uses a range of music related objects to construst the bionic side of her face. It also has and conjures a Metroplis vibe.

EDIT: 25/3/2010: The reveal of her official album art work

Funky Patterns

Was just watching Titanic on television for the umpteenth time. Despite the amount of times I have seen it, it's such a really good, depressing film. Easter is round the corner and I'm finally on holiday, for 4 weeks...good times!! Found these lovely, funky patterns by artist Arnaud Loumeau. Nice how each design starts off with one mini squared space and expands into visually impacting and colourful patterns. Pretty cool huh?

Apple Goodness and Wonderland

Apples seem to be everywhere lately; as much as I love apples, I'm not really into pies, especially the ones with shortcrust pastry, but I have now taken a liking to McDonald's apple pies, and have been craving them. The other day I randomly decided to make an apple crumble; never knew how easy they were to make!

Moving on from apples and sweet tooth desserts, down through the rabbit hole...Yesterday I went to my first premiere which was for Tim Burton's version of Alice in Wonderland, in Central London's Leicester Square. It was a horrible and rainy day but I managed to see the awesome Johnny Depp and saw a glimpse of Prince Charles and Duchess Camila Parker Bowles. I am also loving Burton's rendition of the main characters; very exaggerated.

I can't wait till this baby hits the cinema on March the 5th, not long till I experience the wonders and mysteries of Wonderland in 3D! :)

Uni Graphic Design #1

So its the end of term one & I'm officially on my 4 week Christmas holiday, here are some pictures from some of the work we have done during our first term at university... Firstly here is one of the final pieces I made inspired by a fashion designer I love; Jean Charles De Castelbajac.

The rest of the pictures I took are of some of the final pieces that I really liked by other students on my course.

Some inspiration please?

Sorry for the lack of posts and updates, university has kind of taken over, but not for long mwahahaha; Christmas holidays are almost here....yippee! At the moment I can totally relate to Natasha Bedingfield's lyrics "I need some help, some inspiration, but it's not coming easily". I've been struggling to find inspiration, the kind that triggers me off on a "design tangent"; but I think I'm slowly starting to find some inspiration. These visually striking illustrations were designed by a London based illustrator called nikki farquharson ...check out her website, she has other neat stuff on there.

Will be posting other findings I stumble upon, and seriously if you guys out there find some interesting stuff let me know too please! Lets inspire each other =) 23 days till Christma...yippeee!

EDIT: haha I just realised that the illustrator (Nikki) went to the same uni as me, but graduated in 08!

A New Chapter - Wacky Races

The Wacky Art & Design Students!

As I said in my previous post, I've started University & it's a new chapter in my life. We got given a mini group project, nothing serious, something to break the ice. The project was based on the cartoon series 'wacky races'. In each group of 5-6 people we had to come up with some wacky designs/themes of racing carts that we were then going to create & put together out of random stuff we found around Central London, the uni or buy at shops...Each group had a starting point somewhere around London (not toooo far from the uni) and had to race back to the uni completing about 5 different tasks e.g record your team asking a member of the public what they like about London & why. My teams theme was a princess bed, and we wore PJs...here are the pics below....

Our Starting Point, Piccadilly Circus
We got Tourist attraction

Some more tourist attraction

With a busker in the London Underground

It was such a funny & surreal experience....I wonder what other projects my course has in store for us! Would you be brave enough to do something like this????...

My Art & Design Exhibition

I've finally got time to be posting regularly; now time for a quick catch up. I said I would post pictures from my Foundation course Art & Design Exhibition so here they are: These images are of my fashion design and graphic design work, my theme was Colour Spectrum.

These illustrations & books took ages to create and put together, can you guess who the celebrity faces are near the top? Below are pictures I took of work from other students on my course:
