+ In April I decided to change the name of the blog from 'Shazberri' to 'Design Fruit'. I felt it was necessary for a name change due to the direction I hope to continue taking the blog in. The concept behind the new name is that this space displays the hard work of the design & creative industry which is consequently 'fruit'. Also throwing in that I just love fruit in all its, somewhat natural forms; fresh juice and smoothies, anyone?! 

+ For the past couple of weeks I have been playing around with the look and feel of the blog, creating a simple yet bold visual style. I added more navigational options and have been tidying up some areas. It's not quite all there yet, so I'm still fiddling around with and tweaking things until I get tired! I hope you find this revamp easier on the eyes and to navigate around.

+ I am brainstorming and working on a number of themed post series which will be added to the 'features' sidebar navigation, so keep a look out. The newest one is the weekly Sketchbook Series.

This Summer

 

I'm practically on Summer holiday & so far have come up with a few Summer time (creative) goals (on going list)

• Draw at least 2-4 times a week, since I hardly do
• Visit more exhibitions
• Commit to blogging on a regs
• Get a job?
• Fill out 2 sketch books
• Create & Design stuff e.g a dress or bag
• Read more Design & Visual Culture books, blogs & mags
• Start up on creative writing again
• Explore untrodden, creative ground
• Practise Piano everyday & learn half if not all the scales

A Blank Canvas

....ok well not totally blank...I've decided to delete a lot of my old posts (only keeping a few), as a sort of 'I'm starting this blog again without totally starting again'. Not 100% sure why, but I want to take on a different approach for this blog, so lets see how things go. I guess this is where I re-introduce; my blog is a space for me to be inspired and to inspire, a space of fun, art, design & fashion, not forgetting bits and bobs of my own work. Anything before this post is old stuff....

Robotic Dresses and Sunshine!

 Easter holiday is over, it ended too quick but it was good while it lasted. So far UK weather (this year) has been awful, but this week has been amazing, sun shining , clear sky, not too hot; now that's what I'm talking about. Today after college I went to the Design Museum to view fashion designer Hussein Chalayan’s exhibition. In case you are not familiar with his designs - he is renowned for his innovative use of materials, and implementing new technology into his designs. Think robotic/transformer dresses (HA!). Personally I think his technologic clothing is amazing. Take a look at it in action yourself (video below).

I also took a nice walk down London Bridge, in which I saw former model making a new 's advert; was really random!
