Whaoo soo excited got my results last night from my first choice university and they gave me an offer! Whoop Whoop What it do! I was literally praying for this...Thank you Jesus!

Feb Updates // London Fashion Week 09

A friend and I went to London Fashion Week, several weeks ago. We saw the Romeo Pires Autumn/Winter 2009 collection. The duo's show was very different; different in a good way. Their concept was captivating as the outfits in the collection played with the notion of how we wear our clothes; they were reversed. Each model carefully walked down the catwalk with their boots that had the heel and toe reversed and most of their hair covering their face (video below). You can imagine the spectators, including myself, at the edge of our seats anticipating the fall of a model, in which a handful almost did but gained their balance.

Lastly I have been preparing for university interviews that are coming up. Ahhh, I'm excited but nervous at the same time. My first choice is LCC which is part of University of the Arts London.

Paper Planes...How about Paper Clothing

Who would of thought boring ol' paper could make pretty neat skirts! So my week has been pretty hectic with many many deadlines at college. How has yours been? I haven't had proper sleep in days!I finished making this paper skirt in my Fashion class today; I'm really pleased with it. It echos themes from the 50's; circle skirts and petticoats. It was my first time working with netting, and I love it, you can never have too much of it...it's also given me ideas for personal projects! It's the weekend; what are you lovelies getting up to?

Firstly Welcome to...

....And the blogging begins! Went college today; only had Fashion class but have a load of coursework to get through before our first assessment, which is in less than 3 weeks, eeeek - so glad its Friday! Anyway....you've all heard of Katy Perry right? You know the chick who sung that controversial song...well if you haven't already noticed, her outfits and costumes are so awesome!!!


From a fashion and general design student perspective, I find her outfits very intriguing & inspiring. Most of her inspiration comes from the fashion era of the 40's, 50's pinup & she also works with great stylist, Johnny Wujek. I managed to find the person who makes some of Katy's outfits and signature frolic Rompers you normally find her sporting; check out the designers website http://www.juliemollo.com/ .



This costume designed by Manish Arora was recently worn by Katy Perry when she was hosting the 2008 EMAs. Another thing I like about Katy Perry's tantalising and unique wardrobe is that it's playful and bright; out of most peoples comfort zones. They have inspired me in some design ideas.
